Lauren had mentioned a lump a few months ago, it came and went with her periods. She finally got a referral to a free clinic from her probation officer, and they got her an immediate mammogram, yesterday.

She’s 28.

I am sitting here wondering if I am going to lose my daughter, not to the disease if she does have it, but to her taking her life, as she is not all that strong and if she has to have something drastic happen to her, she won’t. She’ll be one of the many in her generation who seem to think life is just another thing to throw away. She is already throwing it away with her drinking to excess.

I am so distracted by this now. But… I guess we’ll just have to live thru yet another trial.
