Doing it.
So I made a promise to myself that I would start doing this. riding the bike. I got a frame pump and this grocery bag today. I just have to get a couple of clamps for the rack to go on the trek. Then I am basically set. Next will be street tires, instead of the knobbies, and then a pair of pedals that have clips on them, instead of my Time ATAC pedals. I know I have a pair of them lying around here, I saw them recently. Just have to go find them in the storage rooms i think, since they are not in my back room.
And then, I will do it. Start by taking a wee trip to the convenience store. then to the grocery store, and then to post office. I will do it.

You are an inspiration.
I see my local bike store (Idaho Mountain Touring) has that Trek bag, which I am guessing will fit on my Trek plain-jane rack okay (trying to figure how it attaches…built in bungee or something?)
Hey–is this why this is day 2 of “ahhhh??”
bag has two clips on the top that clip over the bar on the rack, and a bungee with a ring that will go over the bottom hooks, or if you have no hook on bottom of the rack leg, it has a screw and hook to attach to the bike. That one there looks a bit different than mine, I don’t have the bungee compression straps on the front like that.
I got some pics on flickr of the bag
