I do agree. (disclosure: busy so just scanned Wil’s post) Was talking with SO about this yesterday. There’s been so much sh*t shoveled down our throats, so much anger, so much disappointment and depression.

But that’s the easy path. The divisive path (that, by the way, has historically — at least during my lifetime — has cut the throats of the progressives as they fragment off with their “my way, my idea, my cause is most important”. Not all. Some. Bah–there’s a whole essay there, so I’ll stop.

It’s too easy to luxuriate in righteous anger and bile. But we have a president-elect who has clearly said that the time for that is past. I’ll still sneak off and read blogs that poke fun at the most eggregious balloonheads on the other side. But my task is to pull together with all my brothers and sisters. I’ll try and remember my words, now, and act upon them.

That said, I’ve been a lazy bast@rd the last couple of days and will need to discipline myself. I jotted down a quote from an interview with Michelle Obama. “It feels a bit daunting until you have your plan.”

For the first time I can remember I felt I was really voting *for* someone whose success I felt strongly about, and not just “against” someone, or for someone with whom I agreed, but who didn’t grab me by the shirt collar and inflame my imagination.

The Gore vote was stolen; I don’t doubt that a bit. And life and history would’ve been so much different had he won. But I am pleased for him that he’s found his calling and his voice in what he’s doing now.

I’m babbling.

I’m happy.

I love love love my clothesline. I got one of those “umbrella shaped” ones this past spring/summer, a hand-me-across from my MIL as the little park/community she lives in got all heavy handed and hysterical when someone dried their boxers on a line so they outlawed clotheslines. Idiocy.

So I’m way enjoying it. In the winter I use my expandable wood rack and stuff doesn’t dry as fast. I love the clothesline. There’s something so pleasing about it. More than the sum of its parts. I don’t know what it is.

I’m sorry to hear about crap with L., but it is her crap and she has to work through it or nothing will change ever. I’m _almost_ (not really, but…) glad your car’s knocked up because then there’s just no question that you cannot be chauffeur.

according to UPS, it is out for delivery. He gets in the neighborhood between noon and 3 pm. So I am totally unable to concentrate. But I am doing fishing stuff, loading up evernote with pages of info and links and numbers and maps. Evernote is way way cool.

install went well. I just have to learn how to make a template for it. I’ll go thru the video today on templates, right after I get some updates done for clients. Install was super easy. As expected.

I went for a bike ride earlier (albeit not a long one) thinking that might get something fidgety out of my system. I’m not tired now either, getting ready to have some leftovers for dinner and watch a couple episodes of Rescue Me.

What was in the air? I was in the same boat. Wanted to get up at 3 but didn’t sleep until about 2 so slept into 6:30. Could’ve worked or browsed, or even read, for that matter, but kept hoping I’d turn the corner into dreamland.
