big push

this week has to be a big push here. Have to finish the author site, get site done for Christian by 15th so need to git that going, and have to get site for the hog guy, second concept and push him along. The Cheryl is going to have an ecommerce set up to do, and Kay is shipping me one as well. both I think next week, so I have to get the work all done that is on tap this week. but after that stuff, I have no new sites to do. well, maybe one, nope, two. So I can start those right after Thanksgiving. Have a few queries out there also, have to go follow up on those. Looking like a good Nov/Dec, not too much stress, not overloaded with work. a good thing.

Lauren texted me at 6:30 Thursday morning, her nana June had passed on a few hours earlier. The funeral was today. I went, as I did not go to Frank’s dad’s back a few years ago, I never knew of his passing for a few months afterwards. I went today cuz June was one classy lady. A very good person, who accepted everyone, even if she did not agree with you, she did accept you. I had not seen her since before my divorce. I had not seen some of the family since then either, and I was wondering how I would feel. I was and still am very numb. Like a good light went out in the world. I always admired how she held herself her humor, her class. She was very loved by many people, the church was packed. My ex could not make the connections to get back from Hawaii where he is working now. So I was there also to support my kids in their loss. Lauren lost it, Jed was a pall-bearer and he lost it a bit at the cemetery. But it was a decent day, and June would have been proud that everyone remembered to use coasters under their glasses when we went back to her home. Yup.

June Donohue 1926-2008 LONGMEADOW - June (Becker) Reading Donohue, 82, a resident of Long-meadow, passed away on Thursday October 30, 2008 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Cambridge, MA., on July 28, 1926, a daughter of the late Karl and Mabelle (Churchill) Becker. June was a graduate of Cambridge High and Latin School and K. Dell School in Brookline. She was a volunteer at Baystate Medical Center and St. Andrew’s Church in Longmeadow. Besides holding positions in the Mercy Warren Chapter of D.A.R., and the Longmeadow Women’s Club, she was a member of the Longmeadow Country Club. Besides her parents she was predeceased by one sister, Janet Beane, her first husband Arthur Reading in 1970 and her second husband Francis Donohue in 2002. She is survived by six devoted children, Francis Donohue, Scott Reading and his wife Jeanne both of West Medford, MA., Glenn Reading and his wife Janet both of Westfield, Kathryn Chicos and her husband Wilson of Milford, CT., Jude Ebbinghaus and her husband Charles both of Groton, CT., and Claire LaBelle and her husband Ernest both of North Stonington, CT., and one sister Jean Beckers, and she leaves fourteen cherished grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. June’s funeral will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2008 at 10A.M. in First Church of Christ, 763 Longmeadow Street, Longmeadow, MA 01106. Burial will follow in Longmeadow Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in June’s memory to the Open Pantry 287 State Street, Springfield, MA 01105 or Baystate VNA and Hospice50 Maple Street, Springfield, MA 01103. hey you fellow lactose intolerant folks. you know how it gets, you have a nice Entemanns crumb cake sitting on the table, you have a piece, but OH this would be so much better with milk. Just a teeny bit of milk. Yeah, sometimes you can get away with just that teeny bit of milk with no repercussions. So you do it.

fast forward 4 hours. You climb into bed, and oops, some of that intolerance slips out of you, but, no matter just a wee bit, and you are sleepy. few minutes later it is forgotten, you roll over to get comfy, raise that blanket back over your shoulder. yup. I am SO THERE.

it’s just been me. have a client who said “mid November is fine” now says he never said that, Needs site done by Nov 10. My contract covers me since it’s timeline is for end of November. He also is wanting things not in contract, but again, the proposal covers them as options and has the time associated with them. So I do a change order today with them. And I agreed to do the timeline, minus the options, as it is, it will be tight and totally time dominating.

sigh.

at least I charged more for this to begin with, as I had radar going off on this. Old people just do not understand computers and I have had to spend time teaching how to use Basecamp. Consulting time. LOL

So……….. uggh shower, then post office, then bank, then back here to get a site launched and bury myself in this jerkface

there is alot of frost outside this morning, I’ll try to get a shot before it melts. letting the dog out made my feet cold, no slippers.
anyway, have to head back to parents today, their cable was out yesterday. Started on Saturday. They called company yesterday. Did they think to call me and not have me come up? ha. So, I go back. Sigh. a break during the day that I do not need. Oh well.

Got nothing done at all this weekend well, a bit of maintenance stuff. Need to get at least ONE concept done for that hog guy. it is making me crazy! Then one for the author. and get catering done, and get christian’s concepts done. Man!!!

ok, off to start my workday.

clean clothes dried by god

just pulled in my laundry that got left out overnight. It was nice. Some damp t-shirts are out on the porch line. But as I brought them in, I said to mike “ahhhh you’ll be wearing shirts dried by god” I thought that was cool. As I put his shirts on hangars and then into the closet, I could smell them. So fresh and wonderful. Truly the smell was made by god to get us to use clotheslines

i think autumn is finally for real

after a good chilling a few weeks ago, autumn gave way to a last gasp of summer. It’s been decently warm over the past 2 weeks. Yesterday that changed. it got autumny. and i don’t think that it is going to warm up until spring now. I had to bump the heat up a tad, after it kicked on yesterday during the day. It was just a bit too cold for my tootsies. So, now it is months until it gets nice out. November always sucks except for turkeyday. December is too busy with the false rushing and promises, January is just a month I would rather skip buy, except that I can’t, Jed’s birthday. How I ever made it thru that last month with him is unknown. So… time to plastic up the windows, put the grill into the garage, break out the boots, and wait til april.

finally after asking various house partners to help me put up a clothesline, over the almost 20 years I have lived in this house, I had enough and I put it up myself. yes, motivated by the sharp rise in my electricity costs these past few months, and also by the fact that my dryer has seen better days, and should be reserved for emergencies only. They can get used to washing clothes on a nice day. and hanging them out.

I am going to go to store and get the last remaining part I need to do parents cable internet install and then get my ass working on this effin design. needs to gets its done tonight!

Getting new caterer off the plate will allow room for old caterer to come back on schedule, and give me room to get the author started.
